Nestled in between two urban cores in Kelowna, the Lawson Ave Apartments provides an example of density infill on small urban lots. A mix of 20 units are provided over 5 storeys. Placed on a sunken parkade, hidden from the streetfront along a laneway, the apartment is street focused - with the design focused on the pedestrian experience. Meaningful landscaping, playful detailing, splashes of colour and the opportunity to see life in the building from the street and vice versa provide a scale of potential interactions for people and street life. The neighourood asked for more private decks, so we responded.
