Affordable housing residential

Phase: Development Permit

Units: 229

Year: 2025

Located on a transit-oriented corridor, this mixed-use affordable housing project has been submitted for development permit to the City of Kamloops.  These two 11-storey structures will feature a hybrid mass-timber construction and will service 229 units.  The development features a pedestrian-oriented approach at grade with commercial shops, trees for shade and room for outdoor furniture and patios. The hope being to create pedestrian guided spaces in an area lacking, with immense opportunity given the proximity to a Transit Hub.  The Mass timber structure will sit upon a 2-storey concrete plinth programmed as shops and offices, with expressive wood structural detailing providing beauty for pedestrians on the street. Auto access between the two structures will straddle Fortune Drive and Simcoe Avenue.  Service vehicles, waste pickup and parkade access are proposed off of Simcoe Avenue.
